The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) is among the most prestigious universities in Greece, with an international role in, inter alia, the medical and engineering sciences. In the context of HosmartAI, its primary areas of involvement include the design, implementation and clinical evaluation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabled diagnostic and monitoring solutions. With respect to the technical aspects of the project, AUTH participates with the Lab of Medical Physics of the School of Medicine and the Signal processing and Biomedical Technology Unit of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Through independent research activity and participation in a wide variety of EU and nationally funded research projects, the two labs have accumulated extensive expertise in the development of innovative, multidisciplinary, end-to-end biomedical applications. Regarding the project’s clinical aspects, the Third Cardiology and the Third Obstetrics and Gynecology departments of AUTH are involved. The university clinics are located at the Hippokrateio General Hospital of Thessaloniki and bring their valuable experience in diagnosis and treatment, as well as clinical research and development.
