ETH Zürich dates back to the year 1855, when the founders of modern-day Switzerland created it as a centre of innovation and knowledge. At ETH Zurich, students discover an ideal environment for independent thinking, researchers a climate, which inspires top performance. Situated in the heart of Europe, yet forging connections all over the world, ETH Zurich is pioneering effective solutions to the global challenges of today and tomorrow. ETH Zürich has 21 Nobel Prize winners (including Albert Einstein, Niels Bohr and Wolfgang Pauli); 1 Fields Medal winner; 2 Pritzker Prize winners.

The Multi-Scale Robotics Lab (MSRL) at ETH Zürich pursues a dynamic research program that maintains a strong robotics research focus on several emerging areas of science and technology. A major component of the MSRL research leverages advanced robotics for creating intelligent machines that operate at micron and nanometer scales. Many of these systems are used for robotic exploration within biomedical and biological domains.

The Multi-Scale Robotics Lab will contribute to HosmartAI with its Magnetic Navigation technology to remotely manipulate magnetic devices. These devices are controlled with a Magnetic Navigation System that generates a magnetic field in the 3D space. Such systems are used to generate magnetic torques and forces on permanent magnets, or soft magnetic materials embedded on tethered robots such as catheters, or untethered microrobots. This technology provides a remote, reliable and precise actuation method.
